Briana Blackwelder, 28 years old, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away due to injuries she sustained in a car wreck occurring on April 23, 2011. According to KSL News, Ms. Blackwelder was a passenger in a SUV when the driver of that car veered into the median, causing the SUV to roll. This auto accident happened just before 2 p.m. around mile marker 243 near Santaquin, Utah. During the rollover, both Briana Blackwelder and the driver Ian Blackwelder, 19 years old, were ejected from the car. Police say that neither of them were wearing a seat belt.
Briana Blackwelder sustained serious head injuries and late died at Mountain View Hospital in Payson. Her brother Ian, a resident of Laguna Nigel, Calif, remained in critical condition. The roads were wet at the time of the single-car rollover but it is unknown if road conditions led to the crash happening.
I extend my deep condolences to the family of Brian Blackwelder for their tragic loss. And I wish for the best possible recovery for Ian Blackwelder.
