Semi-Trailer Driver Endangers Other Motorists, Causes Delays in Parley’s Canyon

posted May 22, 2012 | by

A semi carrying a large load of oranges tipped over on I-80 in Parley’s Canyon on Thursday, May 17, 2012. The Salt Lake Tribune reported that the accident happened on the westbound lanes of traffic. The rollover affected all eastbound and westbound lanes. There were no other accidents reported and the driver of the semi only received minor injuries and was treated on the scene. The accident wasn’t cleared until later in the afternoon.

I’m glad to hear that there were no other accidents reported. I wish the driver of the semi a quick recovery.

The driver of this semi dodged a bullet. This rollover could very well have involved another vehicle and resulted in serious or fatal injuries. Semi truck drivers are professional drivers and are never allowed to drive in an unsafe way. This driver obviously was going too fast for the type of vehicle and/or load he/she was carrying.
