James Doyle was 51 years old when he passed away from injuries sustained in a single-car rollover accident near Grantsville, Utah, in Tooele County. According to the Salt Lake Tribune, this accident happened when Doyle, who was driving eastbound on I-80 in a 2001 Chevy Silverado pickup truck around 7:25 a.m., lost control of his truck and went into the median. From there, his truck rolled across the eastbound lanes and came to a rest on the right-side of the shoulder. Doyle was pronounced dead at the scene.
I send my heart-felt condolences to the family of this man for their sad loss.
As a Utah wrongful death attorney, I would have a hard time blaming anything other than weather conditions for this crash happening—especially since this is a single-vehicle rollover. Sometimes, however, poor traction on ice and snow can be effectively cured with good snow tires. It is unknown what condition the pickup’s tires were.
