Maria Esther, 67, and Aquistin Isas Rios, 76, both from Ogden, Utah were killed and four others were injured in a Lindon, Utah traffic accident that happened on Interstate 15 on May 11, 2010. According to the Salt Lake Tribune, a Jeep Cherokee became undriveable after hitting the back of a semi truck in the right lane of the freeway. After this initial collision, the car had stalled in the right lane and the driver got out of his Jeep to check on the passengers. A small bread delivery truck the hit the left side of the Cherokee killing Ms. Esther and Mr. Rios. The Utah Highway Patrol states that the man driving, two children and the truck driver were also injured during the crash. The accident happened around 3:30 in the morning and the two right lanes were closed for several hours.
My heart goes out to the family of these two victims. I offer them my sincerest condolences.
As passengers in the car, the family of Ms. Esther and Mr. Rios would do well contacting a Utah wrongful death attorney who can help them recover costs for funeral expenses and pain and suffering.
